ANHC Earns 2024 HRSA Access Enhancer and Health Disparities Reducer Badges

At Anchorage Neighborhood Health Center (ANHC), our mission is rooted in providing high-quality, accessible, and equitable healthcare to our community. We are thrilled to announce that ANHC has been recognized with two 2024 Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) badges: the Access Enhancer badge and the Health Disparities Reducer badge. These awards highlight our commitment to expanding access to care and reducing health disparities in Anchorage.

Access Enhancer Badge

HRSA Access Enhancer Badge

The Access Enhancer badge celebrates health centers that have made a measurable impact in increasing patient access to comprehensive healthcare services. At ANHC, we achieved a significant milestone by increasing the total number of patients served, as well as the number of patients receiving at least one comprehensive service — such as mental health, substance use disorder, vision, dental, and/or enabling services — by over 5% between the two most recent Uniform Data Systems (UDS) reporting periods.

This achievement reflects the hard work of our dedicated team, who continuously strive to ensure that more members of our community can access the care they need. Whether it’s offering sliding fee scales to improve affordability or introducing new services tailored to our community’s needs, ANHC is proud to lead the way in creating pathways to health for all.

Health Disparities Reducer Badge

Earning the Health Disparities Reducer badge further underscores ANHC’s mission to advance health equity. This badge recognizes health centers that meet at least one of the following two criteria:

  • Demonstrates at least a 10-percentage-point improvement in low birth weight, hypertension control, and/or uncontrolled diabetes clinical quality measures (CQMs) during the two most recent consecutive UDS reporting years for at least one racial/ethnic group, while maintaining or improving the health center’s overall CQM performance from the previous reporting year.

  • Meet the national benchmarks for all racial/ethnic groups served within the most recent UDS reporting year for low birth weight, hypertension control, and uncontrolled diabetes.

A Shared Achievement

These badges are a reflection of our patients, staff, and community working together toward a healthier Anchorage. They are more than just symbols of recognition; they are a testament to the difference we can make when we prioritize access and equity in healthcare.

As we celebrate this achievement, we remain committed to our vision of a community where everyone has the opportunity to live their healthiest life. We are grateful to our patients for trusting us with their care and to our staff for their dedication and passion in serving Anchorage.

Stay tuned as we continue to share updates on how we’re working to enhance access, reduce disparities, and create a brighter future for our community. Together, we can achieve even more!
